Little Nightmares 2 tops one million units sold in less than a month

The news game Little Nightmares 2 sells more than a million units in less than a month. The latest horror game from Tarsier Studios has been out since February 11th and has already made a million sales, while next-generation versions are expected for later this year. Despite this success, the Little Nightmares series will be on hiatus due to legal issues. In just four years, the Little Nightmares series seems to have won the hearts of many gamers. Little Nightmares 2 was released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia and PC on February 11, 2021 and has already sold more than one million units. This is a first for a title released by BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe during this period. In addition to the sales of the first episode, which sold more than 3 million copies last February, the publisher announces that the Little Nightmares franchise has now reached 5 million players. A success that won’t stop as versions of the PS5 and Xbox series of Little Nightmares 2 are slated for this year. Despite this success, the series may never see new episodes again due to rights issues. In fact, the Little Nightmares franchise is owned by BANDAI NAMCO, who edited the first two episodes as well as the mobile game Very Little Nightmares. However, Tarsier Studios, the development studio behind the series, was acquired by Embracer Group (Gearbox (Borderlands), 4A Games (Metro), Volition (Saints Row), Deep Silver and Koch Media) in December 2019. Since the Embracer Group does not own the franchise, it no longer has a financial interest in Tarsier Studios to develop new episodes. It should be noted, however, that an agreement can be reached with BANDAI NAMCO so that Little Nightmares returns to the hands of its creators.
